Vitruvius 0.50 Released: Comments Reloaded
One of the evil things about the internet is that there are numerous threats to blogs like this one. Spammers, bots, people trying to sell naked photos and supplements, attempt to hack into sites like this to spread their filth. Previously, if you wanted to post comments on the Critique This site, as a precautionary measure to stop spammers you had to create an account and log into the site. Many individuals do not like to create accounts on blog sites for many reasons, particularly because it is another account that they have to keep track of. Now comments can be posted without creating an account! I have incorporated a CAPTCHA anti-spam feature into the site which stops bots and hackers from creating new software that can automatically log into most sites and leave nasty messages. Comments require an email address, but this is only to track your user name so that other people cannot pose as you. Your email address is not displayed on our site, and is not added to a mailing list or resold. It may be necessary for you to click reload upon posting your first comment, if you are not logged in. If you do not use the same email address each time, I will have to release your comment as a means of preventing spam. If you continue to use the same email address, your comments will post automatically. I will be working on coding the comments for non-registered users so that comments are automatically updated and you do not have to hit the reload button.
There is an advantage to creating an account on the Critique This website. In the near future we will have contests and promotional giveaways. We will select the winners based on a random drawing of users that have registered accounts. Also when you create an account you will receive instant updates and special access to future resources which will be added to the site. This means that if you do not create an account that you cannot win! More information to come in regards to these promotions.
