Web Development
Critique This relies heavily on the web publishing software Wordpress, which is open source software available free to anyone willing to take on the task of learning php scripting and all of that other fun stuff. Open Source is what we are all about at Critique This so all of the software and scripts that we use are open source code. A full list will be compiled once we release Critique This v.1.00. Thank you to all those coders that have kept the spirit of open sourcing alive. Please submit any bugs, typos, spelling errors or suggestions so that we can bring you the best possible experience we can while you are visiting our site. And always remember:
Dammit Jim, I’m an architect not a web developer!
Most Recent Releases:
One of the evil things about the internet is that there are numerous threats to blogs like this one. Spammers, bots, people trying to sell naked photos and supplements, attempt to hack into sites like this to spread their filth. v.0.30 Vitruvius
2009.07.24
In the spirit of Matt Mullenweg the creator of WordPress names each major release of WordPress after famous Jazz musicians. Thanks to Matt I have been inspired to name each major release of this site according to architects that inspire us to create. The Vitruvius release is the first public release of this site and all major bugs and formatting issues have been addressed. The majority of our time will be spent developing content, while work on future development proceedes in the background.
Alpha Releases:
The Critique This website makes use of the versioning system similar to that commonly used for software versioning. The Critique This site is currently in alpha development, the initial beta release is planned for this fall and will mark the first public release of the Critique This website to the public.
v.0.20 alpha

The last release was all about design and the development of the structure of the site. This release is all about performance. All pages are earning a minimum YSlow rating of at least a B and many pages are earning an A. What does this mean to you? You get to spend more time reading content, instead of waiting for it to load. Performance optimization will be addressed in every update from here on out.
- Javascript Placement Optimized
- Replacement of Static Images with Sprites
- Successful Integration of BBPress 1.0 with Wordpress 2.8
